Silent Hills, the next entry in the Silent Hill series has been offically cancelled.
Silent Hills was under development by Kojima Productions; a joint effort between Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and movie director Guillermo del Toro starring actor Norman Reedus (star of The Walking Dead). The offical statement from publisher Konami comes after director del Toro was recently quoted as saying that Silent Hills was not going to happen.
Konami said in a statement to Kotaku "Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued. In terms of Kojima and Del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements."
It's a real shame that Silent Hills is no more, specially after the huge success for the P.T. demo on PS4, but with the recent problems surrounding the relationship between Kojima Productions and Konami, many concerns where raised over Silent Hills and its fate.
