For over 13 years they have been blowing each other up with everything from exploding sheep to old women and all the usual weapons such as the trust bazooka, mines and grenades.
In the past, Worms has been a more multi-player game rather than single player, this time around the game is more balanced, focus being shifted slightly to the single player with the usual campaign type game, you are dropped off in different locations and must defeat the enemies, armed with various weapons or sometimes, none at all. Each level is 5 games long with the last being against the Boss of the level, who starts with the advantage of a higher position on the map and sometimes with better weapons, once you beat the boss, a cut scene unfolds and you are transported to a new map area.
The newest addition to the single player mode is called Puzzle this gives the player a test, each puzzle is set out so you must use your weapons in ways you never thought to use them for, from using a bazooka to get you up a hill to launching a bazooka shell through a gauntlet full of magnets, one wrong move or not enough power and the shell comes back, some involve a single worm and some involve multiple worms and team work is needed. They start off easy but get harder and will test your logical skills as well as problem solving.
The last main single player is called Time Attack, using certain tools, navigate your way through a maze in the shortest time possible, jet packs and ninja ropes, make it to the exit as fast as you can.
And of course, the training mode, not much else to say really, get taught how to kill the other worms. There are also Quick game and Custom game, these are standard team on team battles just like the old days, Quick game, random teams are selected, one Human and one CPU and a random landscape, custom mode is as it implies, custom teams, custom maps etc.
Wireless multi-player is separated into two modes, Ad Hoc mode, this, if you are not familiar with the techno language, is connecting directly to other PSPs locally via the Wi-Fi connection, you can either Host a game, where it is your rules, or join a game that has been hosted already. The other mode is Infrastructure mode, this connects to your wireless internet connection and allows you to play against people over the internet, however, you must create an unique profile name and password in order to connect to this mode. There are also online leader boards to check out.
In the Shop you can buy new time attack levels, weapons and skins from the shop by using the money acquired in the Single player games and use these in the Customize mode, customize the teams, flags, levels etc to your liking.
Another fantastic game, 13 years doesn't seem to have spoiled the Worms.
